About the Author
Lucia Gonzalez, real name Ana Gonzalez, is a Venezuelan-American author. She was born in Caracas and lived most of her life in the state of Georgia. Since childhood, she loved fantastical worlds. Films like Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Treasure Planet, and Sinbad captivated her young mind. She was also an avid watcher of anime and cartoons, hailing Code Lyoko, Oban Star Racers, and Inuyasha as some of her earliest creative influences. Her favorite reads in her youth were Nancy Drew, Goosebumps, and the Secret series.
Inspired by the images she saw both on screen and in her head, Ana began writing when she was in kindergarten. She would often doodle her ideal book covers on lined paper, then staple pages together. Her chapters were written in (usually dull) pencil. She would participate in a state writing competition in the second grade, winning for her short fiction story “Snow Wolf.” Her love for writing and creating would continue into middle and high school, where she continued to participate in school theater. She eventually co-wrote a haunted house production based on Alice in Wonderland.
Ana graduated from the University of Georgia with honors, majoring in English and Entertainment and Media Studies (EMST). She also completed a minor in French. During her time in college, she assisted in the making of various student films. She now works in the film and TV industry and lives in Colorado. As an avid lover of foreign languages, she’s currently hoping to master both Portuguese and Japanese. Her lifetime language goal is to become fluent in five languages. She hopes to one day have a dog, a cat, a snake, and/or a bird - in some order.
The Chosen Cycle is Lucia Gonzalez’s first venture into professional writing.
